Antero Toikka - In the parc

(Painted wood, 167 x 57 x 57 cm)

"The Terracotta Army was buried with Emperor Qin. It was cheaper at the time to make replicas of the real army than bury his soldiers just like that. My work In the Park means bringing outside in, and in the conceptual sense, bringing an outside world item inside our culture and into the concrete and steel jungle.

The measures of the work are based on 160 cm, which is the approximate level of man's eye today. Soldiers of the past seldom grew taller."
