Félix Roulin - Amazone en armes
(Steel and bronze, 226 x 120 x 43 cm)
"In ancient times The Amazons were described as formidable warriors, they had one of their breasts cut off so that they could use a bow and arrow while riding: they were no softies! The moment reproduced in the sculpture, suggests that the arrow has just been launched and has already hit its target, while in Bourdelle's magnificent sculpture the archer is all tension and it is the moment just before that is suggested.
'Ô temps! suspends ton vol."/ "Time! suspend your flight.'"
